This elegant Chardonnay was made with grapes from the Russian River. Primary fermentation was carried out in French oak barrels. It went through a natural malolatic fermentation to add softness and stability, was aged on the lees for 14 months and bottled unfiltered. Our 2018 Chardonnay, made with grapes from Healdsburg, CA, is similar to French Chablis. It is less buttery than many California Chardonnays. It was aged in neutral (older, imparting subtle influence) French oak. It has complex fruit flavors with notes of earth and savory minerality. It is lighter in body with bright acidity, lemon and slight green apple flavors. A perfect match for middle weight dishes, buttery dishes or anything from the raw bar!
This delicious Cabernet was made with grapes from Napa. It is 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Cabernet Franc. It is richly layered with flavors of spice: vanilla, allspice, and cinnamon, blended with hints of blackberry, boysenberry, violets, mocha and Creme de cassis. The Cabernet Franc adds elegant structure balanced with the Cabernet Sauvignon's coa smooth and lengthy finish. This two year barrel aged wine will continue to age gracefully in the bottle. Our first wine made with almost 50% Colorado grapes! This fruit forward Merlot has some plum and cherry flavors, a soft tannin and a little toasty finish due to the 9 months in new American Oak. It is energetic with a nice structure and medium body. Ten percent of the sales of Rodeo Merlot this summer will go to the Yampa Valley Coronavirus Relief Fund.
